Colourpop Black Friday Haul

by - December 19, 2017

Long time no talk! Wow, it feels like its been forever since I've written a blog post. If you're not aware, I'm currently go to school for Accounting and school can be hard enough without adding blogging to the mix, so I've had to take a little hiatus from the blog. I'm coming back briefly because we're about to be out for the Christmas break. Yay!

I'm currently sitting in my bed typing up this post and just enjoying this time off! Also, we had snow last night (December 9) !!! And I don't mean like a light dusting........I'm talking 5 to 10 inches!!!!! I know to some of you that live up north, that is a lot but for me (I live in Alabama) thats a huge amount and we hardly ever get snow! So it's safe to say I've been feeling extra Christmassy lately :)

Ok, so now that we're done catching up, lets get on with the post! Around the time of Thanksgiving,  me and my mother usually go Black Friday shopping, but we skipped this year and I went home and relaxed. It has been a really rough year for me so I needed to relax a little more. Since I didn't go Black Friday shopping in the store, I decided to log on to my laptop and see what deals I could score online and of course, if you know me at all, I went straight to some of my favorite cosmetic websites. Here is where Colourpop comes in. They had an awesome sale and I snagged some products I've been eyeing for a while.
So, I've been eyeing Colourpop's eyeshadow palettes for a long time, because the shades look so beautiful and the price is pretty great too! The first one I picked up is the I think I love you palette. It's a nice mix of bronze and earthy tones and is great for everyday wear. The formula is also great because each of these shadows have a silky, velvety feel to them.

Shades(in descending order):

Girls Bite
Fancy Face
Better Bitter
Level Up
My Treat
My Type
Rule Breaker
Let's Do It
Screw It

The next eyeshadow palette I picked up was the SHE palette which is the Karrueche Tran collaboration she did with Colourpop. What I love about these shades is that they're the perfect mix of purples and mauves that would be perfect for a date night look. The formula of these are the same as the other eyeshadow palettes but weirdly enough, some of the shades aren't as pigmented as the others, specifically some of the shimmers.

Shades (in descending order):

Last but not least for the eyeshadow palettes is the My Little Pony eyeshadow palette. Ok, tbh I'm kinda over the whole unicorn/pony trend that was popular earlier this year, but I decided to pick up this palette because I love the shades it has. Out of all the palettes, I feel like this one stands out shade wise and the colors are so beautiful and unique. Again, the formula is similar to the other eyeshadow palettes.

Shades (in descending order):

Princess Sparkle

When Colourpop came out with their brush sets earlier this year, I honestly thought to myself,"I don't need anymore brushes, I have too many already." But then when I saw Jordyn & Sharon using them on Insta Stories, I got jealous and had to pick up a couple for myself. I picked up the contour and blush brushes and their honestly my favorite contour and blush brushes I've ever owned. They're really good quality and make my contour and blush look flawless!
Ok, so you know it wouldn't be a proper Colourpop haul without including some lippies! Colourpop has some of the best matte liquid lipsticks imo and I picked up some new shades as well as some of my tried and true favorites. I also picked up one of their ultra blotted lips, because I've been anxious to try one for a while now and I really love the formula! It really is great if you want a matte lip without the super dry feeling you get with the ultra mattes. Highly recommend! My faves are Lemon Drop, Doozy (ultra blotted lip) and Midi which is my perfect nude shade.
Last but definitely not least is their Pressed Powder Face highlight. The shade is called Sil Vous Play. It's a beautiful pale white, iridescent shade. It does lean more on the glittery side but I like those kind of highlighters. The picture doesn't do the highlight much justice but it's the best I could do so I hope you are able to ascertain the color from the swatch (insert shrugged shoulders emoji here).
